Note to Fans

Hello and Welcome to the United States Family! "Dare to Dream take the Journey" is now my personal Motto. I dared to dream and took the journey in the beautiful city of lights, in Las Vegas Nevada on July 16th of last year. I had the opportunity to compete against amazing young women from all across the country and I was selected by a panel of 10 judges to be your new Miss United States 2010.

Words cannot describe the feeling of hearing the announcer say “And the winner is Miss Georgia – Jessica Black” while the confetti flew like snow from the air. It was a true honor to represent the Peach State and now an even bigger dream come true to represent the United States. From the moment I was crowned my life started to change, it continues to change everyday on my journey as Miss United States and I’m so excited to see where the rest of my year takes me and even beyond my reign.

Over the past seven months, I have traveled across the United States, promoting my platform and raising awareness for the overwhelming need for volunteerism. My personal charity is Children's Miracle Network, as Miss United States we also work for Oprah on her "No Phone Zone" - no texting while driving campaign.

In the past four months, we have been able to raise $120K for Children's Miracle Network and I have been very blessed to work with some amazing people like former President Jimmy Carter, Mario Lopez, Jason London, Giuliana Rancic and Project Runway stars Jonathan Kayne & April Johnson. Featured in over ten live television interviews, including Lifetime and HGTV, my life has been a non-stop thrill ride.

My favorite charities to volunteer for are the Children’s Miracle Network (CHOA), Hands on Atlanta, the Big Brother Big Sisters Program and Toys for Tots. I'm truly addicted to volunteering and helping others especially young women. Helen Keller was quoted as saying, “I am only one, but I still am one. I cannot do everything, but I can still do something.” As Miss United States that’s what its all about for me, helping one person at a time.

If you would like to take this amazing journey with me, I created a blog so you can flow along. My blog has a calendar with all 80+ evens scheduled this year. Please take a look and let me know if you would like me to join you for an upcoming event.

Warmest Regards,
Jessica Black
